Neoplan Megashuttle N4032/4 15metres In order to provide a more efficiency services, Kowloon Motor Bus and CityBus had invited a Germany bus manufacturer, Neoplan, to introduce a 15metres bus to Hong Kong and perform a series of road-test to see whether it is suitable to serve in Hong Kong or not. On July 9 of 1997, the Neoplan Megashuttle arrived to the Hongkong International Terminals (Terminal 4) together with a number of Volvo Olympian chassis, and then immediately drove to the KMB Tsing Yi Depot. The Neoplan Megashuttle have a total length of 15-metre and transmitted with four-axle. Maximum passenger capacity can up to 170, which is actually the same as the Dennis Condor 12-metre (DL1) from China Motor Bus. After the delivery of the new bus, the Megashuttle started its jobs in Hong Kong. On July 10 of 1997, Kowloon Motor Bus invited the press to the Tsing Yi Depot to show the Megashuttle and have a small test on its turning ability. The test lasted for a hour long and showed its turning circle is just similar to the Volvo Olympian 12-metre. Having a permission from Transport Department, the Megashuttle then had a chance on road-test on July 18 of 1997. The routing was from the Tsing Yi depot through Shing Mun Tunnel to Shatin Depot, and then viaduct Tate's Cairn Tunnel to Kowloon Bay Depot, and finally back to the Tsing Yi Depot. After the Megashuttle having a road-test from Kowloon Motor Bus, it was delivered to CityBus on July 31 of 1997 to prepare another road-test between Ap Lei Chau Depot and Tung Chung Town Centre on August 14 of 1997. After all the road-test being held, the Megashuttle delivered back to the KMB Tsing Yi Depot. On October 18 of 1998, the Megashuttle was then sent to the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre to attend the UITP exhibition from October 19 to October 23. Lastly, on May 26 of 1999, the Megashuttle was driven to Hongkong International Terminals (Terminal 4) and ready to deliver back to Germany and leave Hong Kong.
