CMB Dennis Dart 9.8metres midicoach
To meet the operation of the new airport-route, China Motor Bus make an order of 8 Dennis Dart and those midi-coaches arrived to Hong Kong in August 1994.
The introduction of the new Dennis Dart to the China Motor Bus's fleet have made the Dart in Hong Kong more characteristic. CMB introduced the Marshall bodywork to be fitted onto the Darts which is first to be seen in Hong Kong. The curved layout is more attractive than the Carlyer bodywork used in the previous batch of Dart (DC1 - DC20).
The 8 Darts are all powered by Cummins 6BT engine and transmitted by the Allison AT515 gearbox. The maximum power output can be reached to 130bhp at 2,500rpm. The passenger capacity of the midi-coach is 53 and totally 37 seats are to be provided. Also, a large luggage compartment is a standard equipment in the air-bus.
After a year, in the mid of September 1995, the new airport-route A20 have been approved to operate and served between the Kai Tak Airport and Central.
