Citybus AEC Routemaster R2RH ( #1 - #3 )
In between 1984 and 1985, two AEC Routemaster were being delivered from UK viaduct Hong Kong and finally arrived to China. The purpose of this delivery is to demonstrate the two AEC Routemaster on serving on Guangzhou and Beijing. However, in the early 1986, the two buses were delivered back to Hong Kong. Citybus immediately acquired both of them and converted the buses into Classic Buses during 1989 and 1990. Citybus then fleeted them as #1 and #2.
In the mid of 1991, Citybus acquired another AEC Routemaster and converted it to open-top style. The bus coated with the Peak Tramways livery and mostly served on the shuttle route in between Admiralty Peak Tramways Station and Central Star Ferry.
As the maintenance cost of these three AEC Routemaster are quite expensive, especially in the environment of lacking spare parts. So, Citybus retired all of them in late 2001. However, the #1 and #2 are currently being stored, before the final decision is made on their future.
