Citybus Volvo Olympian 11.3metres acquired from CMB

After the New World First Bus have took over the 88 franchised route commenced in September 1998, there were only 11 buses retained in the China Motor Bus's fleets, including 8 Dennis Dart 9.8metres, 2 Volvo Olympian 11.3metres and a Tilling Stevens. Finally in the early of 2001, the China Motor Bus agreed to sell the two Volvo Olympian to Citybus. On 4th May 2001, the two buses restarted their serving life on franchised services.

Citybus arranged the fleet number of #1041 and #1042 to the two Volvo Olympian originally fleeted as VA62 and VA64 respectively. Other than repainted with the Citybus standard livery, the two Olympian only performed some minor changes, such as the continuous-illumination system inside the compartment and the Litevision electronic route displayer. They would be the only Olympian with the curved windscreens and the single-leaf front entrances in the Citybus fleets.
