Citybus Dennis Dart / Dart SLF
To meet the operation of another 14 franchised bus routes in Hong Kong commenced in September 1 of 1995, Citybus had made an order on 21 Darts from Dennis Specialist Vehicles. The new buses are fitted the Plaxton Pointer bodywork on its 9.8metres chassis. After installed with 39 luxury seats inside the saloon, with additional 15 standees, the total passenger capacity can upto 54.
In 1996, Citybus acquired the second batch of 15 Dart SLFs to enhance its services. These Dennis Dart SLF are bodied with Plaxton Pointer II bodywork which equipped with dual doorways for separated entrance and exit. This introduction make it becomes the first dual-doorways Dart. The Dart SLFs started on delivery to Hong Kong since the early of 1997. There is a luggage compartment installed inside the saloon.
However, in 2000, Citybus started to retire its Dennis Dart from services. The main reason is to replace them by the fleets with larger capacity, such as MAN NL262/R. The retirement of the Darts were ended on 2001 and thus there is no more Dennis Dart in its fleets. The retired Darts were all delivered back to UK and serving on Stagecoach UK.
