Dennis Trident 10.6metres prototype
In order to provide an effecient and comfortable journey for the passengers, CityBus ordered a new type of omnibus into its fleets.
In the mid of 1997, the first Dennis Trident introduced to Hong Kong and owned by Kowloon Motor Bus. In the mean time, CityBus ordered a new type of Trident from Dennis that is only 10.6metres in length.
On the October of 1998, the first 10.6metres Trident arrived to Hong Kong and immediately attended the UITP Exhibition during the period from October 19 to October 23. CityBus then fleeted the bus as #2700.
After half of a year, in May 7 of 1999, the #2700 finally licensed as JB5571 from Transport Department. And was put into service on May 11 which served on Route 90C serving between Ap Lei Chau (CityBus Depot) and Central Ferry.
With the help on Caetano, the #2700 is fitted with Duple Metsec bodywork. It is installed with a ZF 5HP500 automatic gearbox and a Cummins M11-305E engine. The passenger allowance is only 97 totally. ( U47 / L30 / S20 )
