KMB Leyland Olympian 11.3metres 3-axle / Cityview bodywork ( S3BL174 )
The Kowloon Motor Bus started to introduce LEYLAND Olympian 3-axle 11-metre since 1986, totally 470 Walter Alexander R-Type bodied Olympians were being acquired in several batches. However, one of the fleets, the S3BL174 with original license DR889, was destroyed by a fire in May 1987. The bus was then delivered to Guangzhou and preparing for reassembled with new body.
In November 1995, the S3BL174, re-bodied with Cityview bodywork, was being put into services again. As the original registered license was outdated and the bus had to re-register with license number as GP7528. The design of this Cityview bodywork is based on the original Walter Alexander bodywork, but the destination-board, the body-grille, and also the decoration of the head-lamp are all specialized. On the other hand, the 102 seating installed inside the interior saloon are separated Lazzarini seats in gray color.
However, after re-bodied less than 6 years, the bus have been retired in August 2001. The major reason is regarding the specialized parts of the Cityview body. As the bus originally meets the time of having COR, to avoid the waste of resources and efficiency of economy, the KMB then retired the S3BL174 in August 2001 before the COR.
