KMB Volvo Super Olympian B10TL
Around the 3rd and the 4th quarter of 1998, after the first Super Olympian B10TL chassis had been shown in the UITP exhibition, Kowloon Motor Bus placed the first order for 61 of that model with one of them being a prototype from Sweden Volvo Bus Corporation. Being released in October 1998, the Volvo Super Olympian have played an important role in the franchised bus services in Hong Kong.
The first Volvo Super Olympian for HK was being assembled in British on the mid of March of 1999. The owner was Kowloon Motor Bus. After the delivered to Hong Kong on the mid of May, it immediately attempted the test by Transport Department on May 26 on To Kwa Wan and the Tilt-Test on May 27 on Kowloon Bay. Afterward, KMB fleeted the bus as 3ASV3 (JE1672). And the other 60 Super Olympian are to be assembled in HK.
Those Volvo Super Olympian for HK were installed with Volvo D10 engine with 285hp. And fitted with Alexander ALX500 bodywork. The dimensions were 12metres in length, 2.5metres in width and 4.366metres in height.

Those 80 Super Olympian 12metres are specially equipped with Hanover electrical route displayer. This made the electrical route displayer being the standard equipment for KMB on acquiring new buses.
In January 2001, Kowloon Motor Bus has introduced another new type of B10TL with 10.6metres in length. Totally 49 of them have been acquired. Those Super Olympian 10.6metres are to be assembled in the KMB Tuen Mun Depot (BBCD) and have been put into services in February 2001.
In April 2001, the last Super Olympian 12metres of the third batch order is being assembled and issued a license of JZ6467 (3ASV141). KMB is then tuned the engine in order to make it fulfilled to the Euro III standard.
