NWFB Dennis Trident 10.6metres / Walter Alexander ALX500 bodywork
In the mid of 1999, New World First Bus was introduced a new model of Dennis Trident to Hong Kong. The total length of the Trident is just 10.6metres and being bodied with Walter Alexander ALX500 bodywork with dual door. NWFB was fleeted those Trident as #1601 onwards.
Totally 62 buses with the same configuration were acquired where the first 20 Trident ( #1601 - #1620 ) were assembled the bodywork in UK and the others ( #1621 - #1662 ) were assembled in Hong Kong.
The Trident have a passenger capacity of 112 where 51 seating in the upper-deck saloon and 27 in the lower-deck saloon, the standees in the lower-deck is 34. The wheelchair position is arranged to the location behind the staircase. And like the one of Trident 11.3metres, the windscreen have divided into 2 pieces on both upper and lower deck. This can lower the operational and maintenance cost on replacing a new one if damaged.
Latterly, NWFB have installed a tree protector for each of these Trident, so as to protect the front glasses from being damaged by tree branches.
