NWFB Volvo Super Olympian B10TL 12metres
Immediately after the Kowloon Motor Bus made the order of 61 Super Olympian B10TL 12m, the New World First Bus also ordered 40 of them in the early of November of 1998. The first one was delivered to HK in the mid of 1999 and attempted the test by Transport Department on June 26. New World First Bus was then fleeted these batch of Super Olympian as #5001 - #5040.
On 2 July 1999, New World First Bus introduced its Super Olympian on Shau Kei Wan bus terminals in order to give publicity of the new bus to the passengers. And the New World First Bus is pleased to announce that it will put into service in a short time. Two weeks later, in the mid of July 1999, parts of the Super Olympian entered into services of Route 8P serving between Wan Chai Ferry and Siu Sai Wan. Although this batch of Super Olympian was ordered later than the one made by the Kowloon Motor Bus, and the first Super Olympian had been delivered to the Kowloon Motor Bus in the late April 1999, the New World First Bus's one is still put into services sooner.
In October 2000, the second batch of Super Olympian started to put into services. Totally 20 buses acquired in this batch. Most of them were arranged to serve on the Tseung Kwan O bus routes. Those Volvo Super Olympian for New World First Bus were installed with Volvo D10A Euro-II engine. The cylinder capacity of the engine is 9,603cc and can perform the maximum power output of 285bhp. The modified Alexander ALX500 bodywork also being introduced to these Super Olympian.
Afterward, in December 2000, the New World First Bus announced the firm order of 19 Volvo Super Olympian Euro-III buses that equipped with the most advanced emission control system. This Volvo Emission Control System is the technology that not only conforms to Euro-III emission standards but with levels close to that of Euro-IV. This is the highest environmental standard currently available in the bus manufacture market worldwide. On the other hand, in addition to these 19 Super Olympian, the New World First Bus made another order of 10 more Sweden Volvo Super Olympian Euro-III buses in March 2001, further to its first order of 19 Euro-III buses. These fleets have been commenced into service by July 2001 and November 2001 respectively.
In September 2001, the New World First Bus made again the order of Volvo Super Olympian 12-metre, totally 14 new buses will be acquired. The #5090 - #5103 are now going to put into services since the end of October 2002.
