 New Hong Kong Bus bus-fleets To meet the increase of travelers' demands on crossing between Shenzhen of Mainland China and Hong Kong, on 20th March 1997, a new Cross-Border Shuttle Bus Service was to be provided to serve between Lok Ma Chau Public Transport Interchange in Hong Kong and Huanggang Check Point, which viaduct Lok Ma Chau Control Point. The services was operated by New Hong Kong Bus Co. Ltd., originally the Art East Ltd., which are all the subsidiaries of the Kowloon Motor Bus Holdings Limited. In the early operations, totally 10 Dennis Darts 10.1m are being deployed on the route. The total passenger capacity can only upto 54. As the demand is really to high, in the end of March 2001, there are 2 new buses, Hino Coach with Wong Ming bodywork, joined into the services of the Cross-Border Shuttle Bus. Actually they are the second-hand buses hired from the Pentium Coach Services of Sun Bus Company Limited. On 29th September 2001, the first 4 MAN NL263/R are being put into services of Cross-Border Shuttle Bus. Totally 10 new buses with the same models will be introduced in the batch. The NL263/R has a huge passenger capacity upto 70, which fulfills the demands of those passengers. In the mean time, the 2 Hino Coaches are returned back to the original company. In the first quarter of 2002, after the batch of MAN NL263/R nearly all commenced into services, the fleet number of the fleets of the New Hong Kong Co. Ltd. are being reassigned. Those MAN NL263/R are arranged as #1 - #10 while the Dennis Dart are arranged as #11 - #20.
